Project overview

The context behind the build.

Cornell Singapore’s previous store limited what the merchant could update independently. The project addressed that constraint by moving the business onto Shopify and rebuilding the storefront for its appliance catalogue. The new foundation supports ongoing product maintenance by the merchant and the ability to connect with compatible marketplace channels as needed.

Moving beyond a restrictive storefront

Cornell Singapore engaged ShopJedi to move its online store from another platform to Shopify and redesign the shopping experience. The existing platform limited the team’s ability to update the store themselves, making everyday catalogue changes less flexible than the business needed.

Our role

  • Migration from the previous ecommerce platform to Shopify.
  • Storefront redesign specifically for the new Shopify store.
  • A product browsing structure suited to Cornell Singapore’s home appliance catalogue.
  • A store foundation that gives the merchant more control over ongoing product updates.

A familiar brand, a clearer shopping experience

The redesign brings Cornell Singapore’s appliance ranges into a consistent storefront, with clear routes into kitchen appliances, cooking appliances, home and living, and cleaning and air care. Category navigation and product presentation help customers move from a broad range to the items relevant to their home.

The visual approach keeps the focus on the appliances, supported by a coherent brand presentation across desktop and mobile. The aim was to give the official store a considered shopping experience while keeping everyday browsing straightforward.

More control for the merchant team

The practical reason for the move was the team’s ability to maintain its own store. Shopify gives Cornell Singapore a more direct way to add products and keep catalogue information current, reducing the restrictions they experienced on the previous platform.

This makes routine product maintenance part of the merchant’s own workflow and gives the store room to evolve as its range changes.

A foundation for marketplace connections

Moving to Shopify also gives Cornell Singapore a platform that can connect with compatible marketplace channels through suitable integrations. This supports the merchant’s goal of managing its online presence across channels as its requirements develop.

Designed for the next stage of the business

The project combines a refreshed customer experience with greater day-to-day control for the merchant. Cornell Singapore now has a Shopify storefront that presents its appliance range clearly and provides a more flexible base for ongoing catalogue updates and future channel expansion.
